The first morning I was in Tijuana, I was up early as usual and sat back reading as the sun rose and illuminated the stair. I watched it for seemingly a long time until it reached a point of 'glorious glow' and I had to grab my camera.
I made several exposures, first with the normal and then with my wide lens, and chose the image out of the wide lens as I preferred the feel of this square cropping compared to the more literal, rectangular filled-frame crop. There's something about the way the forms and shapes of the walls, stair, and the window's bright rectangle with that shining light all interact to elicit a feeling of peace and silence that reaches out of this photo for me. I find it very satisfying.Trending Articles
